Supercharger or Turbo
Supercharger or Turbo
Hello all, I'm pretty much new to this board and have little idea on power adders. I have become very interested in turbos though, but I can't seem to find an actual kit or anything related to a kit for my car. My true question is...can turbo's be run on a carbed car reliably?? Also, which would give me more power for the money....a centrifical supercharger...or twin turbo's? I know the supercharger runs 2k for the kit and a little more for all the other little things to go with it. But I have no idea about the cost of a turbo. Also, how does a turbo actually work and how is it routed? I know it's welded into the headers....but is that all there is to it? Do you have to route it back to the intake? If these are too many questions...I wouldn't mind being referred to a good link with turbo information. Thank you.

well depending on how much money u have to spend i would go with a good ol used supercharger setup cheaper and easyer to set up a turbo has to be routed so that the exuast goes threw it then out and on the other side u need an air intake and the other end of that has to be run to the carb, and yea it can be run relyably but its really hard to do i would go efi but im lazy and i know someones going to say otehrwize but this is my perosnal oppinon about all of it as far as power gain im not quite sure and i think its dependint mostly on setup hope that helps ill see if i cant find a link to a post for ya that might give more help then little ol me
