My cam? NO, IVE GOT BIGGER PROBLEMS NOW...
I just held the 1205 gaskets up to my 200cc Pro-topline lightning heads and they are not even similar. Let me start by saying these are as cast ports on the part #123400000 heads. They are supposed to be a 1205 gasket head not a 1206. but they arent even close to either. They are very narrow ports and too tall. My caliper measures 1.170" x 2.190" That is narrower almost than a stock small block head but not as tall as a 1206. A 1205 gasket by comparison is 1.28" x 2.09", a 1206 is 1.31" x 2.21". I am sooo screwed. The TPI intake lower is an edelbrock and it is very close to perfect ( un-port matched ) to the 1205 as it is. there doesnt look like near enough material to make this work. Face lift surgery may be required but the injector tip may protrude a teensy bit. anyone know WTF on this one?
Don't know from the Pro Topline heads but I can say that it's better to have the intake port slightly smaller than the intake runner than the other way around. I know that sounds backwards but it's the better way to go.
Any chance you could open up the Edlebrock lower intake to at least match the height of the intake port?

use a 1206 and use a extra thick or even (2) extra thick intake gaskets to move the intake port on the TPI intake UP on the intake port of the head
that should help
may not be the greatest solution to your problem BUT it will get you going faster?
do you need a set of 1206 gaskets? i can ship you out some for nothing...i bought them for my track 1 heads and they were too small. i ended up having to buy some accel mr gasket gaskets (that are a tad bit bigger than a 1206 but not as big as a 1207) and i even had to trim that some

HELL YEAH! please please please can I have them? Im doing exactly what you said. I went outside and lined up the gaskets to index with the bolt holes as perfectly and carefully as I could, I marked the ports bottoms and sides on the intake using the gaskets and did the same on the heads (they are narrower). Then I vernier caliper measured the height of the ports on the heads used the relocated intake gasket to trace the sides to the top of the head ports then did the same on the intake manifold. Basically; I will be making both the heads and the intake match the width of the 1205, and I will be making the height of the intake manifold the same height of the heads. This is still under the height of a 1206 but over the height of the 1205. The 1206 gasket will be required because both will be larger than 1205, so I definitely need some 1206's. After I traced the new port size onto the intake I could see right away that no welding will be required to do this "less than 1206 but more than 1205 hybrid port size". I just ordered some single cut (for aluminum) burrs to get this done, dont want to use my double cuts (for ferious) and mess them up.

Tom- I wouldn't get OVERLY concerned about the mismatch. Obviously , you don't want it to be as bad as it is now but in my experience (and other's expereince), port-matching doesn't make power. Period. Maybe a pony or two but nothing to write home about. Get it close enough and call it a day. When you get down to measuring stuff in the .025" range, you're PLENTY close.

yeah I agree, this only a matter of close not perfect. When I get done they will be the same though. I may post and image of the work I have to complete to make this work, maybe a before and after.
