Nope, I'm using the newer style ford fuel injectors.. People have used fuel injectors as water injectors with great success.. Just make sure to check them every once in a while to make sure they're still functioning..

One nice thing about various ecm codes is that they have things like changing the wastgate solenoids duty cycle as a function of knock. So while you can rely on the knock sensor to trim back on timing if the WI fails, you can also use the wastegate strategy to turn on more water.
I was thinking of this myself. You think the '749 and $58 code I switched to, can either 1) turn water injection solenoid on at a certain boost level, or 2) turn it on at the hint of detonation?

Try this:

Its a very nice progressive kit. I'm probably going to go that route when I decide to sell my SMC kit.

Too much money.. I want the ECM to control the solenoids.

Its relative. Its a complete kit. But its working off of sensors to trigger. Which makes it just about perfect. And being varible, doesn't flood at part throttle.

I've had mine for about two years now. It works but the part throttle chug is what I'd love to get rid of. As mine is all or nothing.

Why would it be on at part throttle? You make boost under part throttle?

Yes. I have it starting to spray around 10psi. It sprays the same at 10psi as it does at 23psi. That's the beauty of a progressive kit. The more boost you make, the more it sprays.

Why bother with the ECM.. Just feed the MAP signal into a LM339 comparator and use a pot to adjust the voltage to trigger the solenoid. BW

Hrmm.. Have a schematic of this? LM339 available at radio shack?
