Lt1 Nitrous Kit????

I might have a chance to buy a NOS nitrous kit part #05176 and I'm wondering if it would work on my 91 Z28. If it works on the 93 Speed Density LT1's, they arent much different then the TPI other then the optispark unit. The fuel enrichment is simply a booster pump, with the vacuum line from the regulator tied into the nitrous system, which could be done the same. Anyone know if it would work??? If not with the stock computer, what about with the Holley Commander 950, which I am planning to buy in the future???? Any help would be great!

NOS dry kit 5176 was designed to work with a 4th gen LT1 engine, not a TPI. Even though there are minute differences in engine design, the kit is application specific for a reason. Most of the nitrous caused failures are from improper installation, poor tuning, or from people trying to mix and match nitrous kits.

Case and point:

Tune Port Injection Systems
Some of the most popular NOS® "plate" systems are those that are designed for the GM Tuned Port Injection (TPI) electronic fuel injection systems. These systems were used on the Chevrolet 5.0 and 5.7L V-8 engines that were available on 1985-92 Camaro and Firebird models, and the 1985-91 Corvette. NOTE: Not for LT1 engines.
These systems are easily installed and feature a spray bar plate that mounts between the throttle body and the intake plenum. They can be adjusted to produce from between 100 and 150 extra horsepower, with provided jets. Activation is through a microswitch that is throttle-activated. All necessary plumbing and hardware is included to make a complete system. A detailed instruction manual is also provided. This manual also serves as an excellent tuning guide.
Tuned Port Injection (TPI) Systems PART NUMBER APPLICATION

1985-91 5.7L V-8 Corvette

It is even stated that the kit for the TPI motor is not interchangable. I suggest finding a proper kit for your car.
