im putting in NOS, got ?'s
ok, i bought a nos 150 kit from a friend of mine. it is currently set up for a carbed car, which mine is. i was just wondering what all ill need to do to run the nos? Can i splice off of the stock fuel line for the extra fuel.? Allso, can anyone tell me how well my engine will hold up, and what i should set the timing at? The engine is a fresh (about 7,000miles) 355. it has a forged crank, but only cast pistons.
also, i will be going tpi by the end of this year, how hard is it to convert a carb kit to one that will work for tpi? can i just buy an injector plate to go between the throttle body and plenum?
Oh and one last thing, i got this kit with a filled bottle for 250 dollars, is that worth it?
thanx in advance for all help.

well, i got it all in today, so i hope someone can tell me where to draw fuel from. if i still have a car by then anyway. i feel like a total dumb as#.! after i put the plate under the carb, i forgot one very important thing in reasembly. THE FUEL LINE. it blew gas all over my block, and one of my spark plug wires has a small slit in it, just enough to ignite the fuel. i had like three foot of flames coming out of a closed hood. not good.

Splicing depends on your fuel pump. I spliced Summit part #MOR-65160(pictured), but I had an electric pump(high psi) regulated down for the carb.
I spliced the nitrous fuel line before the regulator for the carb, then added another regulator to adjust the nitrous fuel pressure to where I wanted it.
Amount of nitrous will be limited by cast pistons. I havent run nitrous on anything but forged pistons, so someone can answer that better than I can.
Timing as a rule of thumb is retard 2 degrees for every 50hp of nitrous added. If you got everything you needed for $250 I would say its a good deal!!!
I am also in the process of changing my NOS Cheater kit over to a TPI kit. Im trying to find the plate, should be the same thing, just instead of hooking to a carb plate, your hooking to a TPI plate, I think...lol Ill tell ya when I find out.
