Where to buy low z injectors?
I'm looking for 40 - 45#ers, 2.0/0.5 amp P&H injectors. The only ones I find are 55+#ers. Since naturally aspirated engines typically don't use low z injectors, I thought I'd ask here. Anyone have any leads?

Just about everything under 55# doesnt need to be low z which is probrobly why you cant find them.In fact now you can get high z 55's from www.racetronix.com
If you dont mind me asking, why do you want low z injectors in such a small size?

Steve,
I'm in the midst of converting from a 165 to 749. The 749 has the capability to run either in the Sy/Ty mode (saturated) or Turbo Sunbird mode (low impedence). My concern is with running high poundage saturated injectors on a small cubic inch engine (305). In an e-mail I sent to Clint (aka Yenko Z28), who has converted to the 749 and runs a supercharged 305 with 35# P&H injectors from a Turbo T-bird, I asked him about my concern. His response, "....I was running accel 30#/hr saturated injectors and my car was undriveable in closed throttle situations. It wouldn't maintain idle speed and would die. The ECM was commanding too low of a duty cycle for the injectors to properly operate. When I modified my 749 ecm and used the above 35#/hr injectors it magically cured my problems. I see that some people have been able to run 30#/hr injectors on a 305 and some complain of the same symptoms I had. I'm sure elevation and engine modifications played a big role in why some would work and some wouldn't. Injector brand/style may have something to do with it too. You could try using 42# or 55# saturated injectors they may work or they may not. You would have to enable quasi-async fueling though for it to work. But if your looking for anything bigger than 55# injectors you'll be forced to get P&H."
I spoke with Clint on the phone after I received this e-mail. He stated that his idle would hunt in a 1,000 rpm range for about 15 seconds, then die.
That being said, I do not want to pay for a set of 42# saturated injectors only to find out driveability, i.e. idle, low speed throttle response, is non-existent on my 305. I have decided to go with P&H injectors following in Clint's footsteps. According to calcs, I need about a 45# injector. Hope this clarifies things.

I really wonder if it's the injectors or the injector driver. I've seen cars idle fine with large saturated injectors fine with aftermarket ECM's. I'd love someone to try converting a 749 to a better injector driver and then running large high Z injectors.
WRT to your question, you could find what you’re looking for in the junk yard if you go scouting out ford TBI cars . The tops are a little different and you’ll have to install new O-rings… the 351’s had 56lb/hr injectors and the 302’s had 46lb/hr injectors

Have the most affordable, biggest selection, of injectors in high and low Z from Delphi I have seen. they match and # them too and still sell them cheap. They also have a bunch of other kinds of injectors too. I only know because I check out that Fastest Streetcar Magazine all the time and they have awsome prices in thier ad in there.
