What fuel pump for my setup?
My current motor is in my signature. Id say I'm making ~280hp at the crank...maybe less. Motor was a brand new GM goodwrench lo5 caprice motor with ~8k on it.
Runs good, no smoke ect.
I have a 670cfm street avenger carb, holley street dominator intake, lt4 cam with stock 1.5s, edelbrock TES headers, 3 inch hooker catback.
I am running a stock replacement lo3 tbi fuel pump still. I am about to do a rear-end swap and I'll be changing the pump. Here are my options. (BTW im only gonna run a 100 shot of nitrous or less)
1. walbro 255lph in-take. One problem...I dont need 45psi.
2. Holley blue electric pump, mounted externally...(will install carb pickup if I do that)
3. You tell me...
I am going to run a edelbrock performer nitrous system, MSD 6al box (for the rev limiter), fuel pressure safety switch and possibly a msd timing retard (maybe not needed).
I am stumped about the fuel pump. I'd like to have a externally mounted pump but Im not sure if a holley blue would be reliable. I will have my rear-end out so I will have easy access to the in-tank pump again. I just wish the walbro wasn't such high pressure.
What do you guys think?
BTW I did a search and got a lot of good info. Just wanting more opinions for my personal setup.
:::edit again::: I have a mallory 3 port fuel pressure reg so I plan on running my fuel line from one of the ports into the fuel soleniod. This should work well correct?
