I have a 1988 camaro paxton supercharger with about 9-10psi,trickflow heads, comp cam 220/230 dur 114 lsa 2600 stall nonlockup stock tpi and chip, with 3.42 gears hooker headers borla catback.problem is that when i am 3/4 throttle it will ping but if i put that nos octane boost in the ping will stop.is the injectors to small.timing set at stock 6 degrees.will 30 pounders stop these.fuel pump is walbro 340 with hotwire kit.do not like to retard timing.also i have colder sparkplugs installed.

i have the walbro, what is the hotwire kit? and i doubt that 30 lb injectors will help you. lower compression, run race fuel, cooler plugs, intercooler/water injection/ nitrous, timing retard,. lower boost, ..........those are all good start points, the paxton is not efficient and creates tons of heat . good luck

well you either need a custom chip to add the fuel, a 749 ecm swap with a custom chip (it senses boost and ads fuel accordingly), or you need an FMU like was supposed to be supplied with your kit to raise fuel pressure a bunch as boost comes up.

Are you using a FMU to add more fuel?
I think you should swap the fuel pump out for performance one, your combo sounds pretty mean to be using a stock pump. Might also be a good time to start learning to program your own chips before you blow that engine, but for now you could set your base timing back a little then see if you can find someone with a WBO2 to see where your at.

solution, use a method listed above to add more fuel. Also not listed above, super fueler or aftermarket ECM.

With the HW harness it will get about 13.5-14.0V all day which is the sweet spot for the pump. Factory spec is rated at 13.5V. The HW harness can actually extend pump life.
