Q about ATI's pressure relase valve (BOV)

i was just curious, i wanted to see if anyone could explain if there is any benefit to the reroute tube that comes from the mouth of the pressure relase valve (blow off valve) and goes to the intake side before the impellers ? What i mean is is it neccesary, does it serve any function other than re-routing used air back into the voluthe ? can it be discarded and just vent the excess pressure without the re-route ?

thanks guys !

If you are a speed density system you do not need to put it back in. mass air sysem will do strange things if it is not 'put' back in. I vent mine to atmosphere, and it works great. plus it makes noise....wooooosh. I have a speed density system.
