A-TRIM upgrade to S-Trim?

Anyone have any back-to-back testing results from going from an A-Trim to S-Trim (or other) ?

I'm curious what the differences (with same pully) are. Noticeable, huge, or nothing?

The folks at vortech are convinced i'll be happier with an S-trim, but I'd like to see timeslips, or dyno runs..

Thanks!

no idea... but a import guy once told me he had to downgrade from R trim to S trim... because if he didnt, he would have too much power to drive on the street...

not real helpful info... but i got a chuckle out of it.

Yeah, I have done a while ago. Cost me $600 bucks.

With the A-trim I got about 7, maybe 8lbs of boost tops on my stock headed and cammed 305 using the stock 6rib SC belt. Now with the S-trim on my 383, with the same cam and an 8rib belt, I get 14-15lbs of boost.

The maximum boost on an A-trim is only 10lbs and is not very efficent at that level. The S-trim maximum is 20lbs and is alot more efficent (cooler) at 10lbs to 14lbs of boost. Its worth it.

I'm actually thinking of going to a T-trim next to get a few more lbs.

Hey,

No kidding huh? I got the 3.33 pully on there right now, and it gets very hot. At only 8psi.. So I can run lots more boos, and be cooler with the s-trim impeller? great.. I'll have to save up!

Vortech has a really good trade in program. If our A-trim is in good shape, They will give up too $700 towards another head unit. This comes from vortech, I just talked to them. I've got the same issue. NEED MORE BOOST!!!

Yeah but with the a-trim, they just upgrade it and send it back.. I think $500-$600.00 is the price.

Thats the trade in program. The guy I talked to said he'd change the housing, and the impeller. Flate rate parts and labor. either 500 or 600.00. I'm gonna call again monday.

Talked to vortech again. Price to change the housing, impeller, bearings, etc is $817.00 plus shipping.
