Getting NOS, do I need new ignition?

I'm getting a super powershot for my -87 lg4 Formula. Now they reccomend retarding the ignition advance a bit, but do one really need to buy an ignition box for that? 'cause it's kinda expensive...lol

Is there other practical way's of doing this without spending alot of $$$? Like just retarding it permanently at the distributor..?

If one absolutely needs a ignition retard function, what's the best and easiest way of accomplishing that...?

What about cutting of some of the vacuum...?

depending on the amount of shot you are using dictates the amount of retard. Its generally accepted 2 degrees for every 50hp of nitrous you intend to run using pump gas. You can set that back with a timing light at the distributor. power on the nitrous will suffer a little bit.

Yep thats the cheapest way to do it. Just make two marks on your cap and one on the manifold. One for nitrous and one for stock. That way you dont have to break out the timing light everytime you want to run the juice.
