Does my car have to many miles for SUPER?

Hello, I am strongly considering installing a Vortec V-1 Supercharger on my 1992 Z-28 Camaro. It is bone stock with a little under 85,000 miles on it. If I'm running between 6-8PSI will my motor be able to handle it or should I not even bother. The car runs great with not a single leak or wrong sound. IS it worth investing over $3,000 in a super if my car is just going to blow up? It is a LB9 motor that is not tired. Please let me know if I'm in the clear.

I know of some mustang friends who have superchargers on their 175,000 mile 302's, so I think you'll be FINE I also have a friend who's running nitrous on an iroc with a little over 130K miles (I think) and it seems safe. motors are a lot tuffer than you think if treated right.

someone i know was spraying 100 at their 170k mile 305 into the 12s (high 11s maybe). stepped it up to 200, did one run that was 11s, next one blew the trans and the rear end when he shifted into 2nd and it hooked (on a nitto) last i knew the motor was in a cutlass lowrider still goin strong

I think it would be worth your money to have the engine leak down tested to make sure it is in good shape. If it passes, and you have good oil pressure, I'd go ahead.

Vortech S-Trim went on my 91 Z28 around 75,000 miles and now I'm at 129,000 and still going strong at 6-8 psi. L98, Tranny, and Rear are all stock. But it all depends on how you treat and maintain the car that will detmine how long it lasts.

I have a 90 iroc 5.7 with a 103k miles and a vortech r-trim, still runs hard, i aslo had a procharger on it before and a paxton, so it had a hard life but has not given me anyproblems yet. I would do a leak down test as well before you do anything else
