Nitrous what do i need?

im new to n20 and want to experiment with it on my old 305 still in the car. im going with a wet plate kit and need to know what else there is pertaining to nitrous and what i actually need.

ive heard of a window switch but dont really know what its all about
do i need a WOT switch?
do i need a fuel pressure switch?

and is there anything else associated with nitrous like that that i would need/want to know about?

A window switch kills the n2o flow at a designated rpm so you're not spraying if you hit fuel cut.

A WOT switch is the only way to go if you ask me.

Fuel pressure switch... I'm not sure what you're refering to there.
There is a switch that powers the fuel and n2o solenoids.

If you intend to spray on a stock (and probobally somewhat tired) 305, I wouldn't spray any more than 100 Tops. Especially with cast pistons and a worn out valvetrain. Juice is bad business... and more addictive than crack!

most of all, you wanna get your fuel system up to par...most disasters with nitrous are as a result of a sub-standard fuel system. If your on a budget(most of us are), a stand alone fuel sys. is out of the question, so that leaves you to upgrade your mechanical fuel pump and even with that you MIGHT run into the common vapor lock problem common with our cars...an electric fuel pump near or in the tank will most likely cure that. A fuel pressure regulator is a good idea too, the RPM window switch is not a bad thought either. With those things in mind, go get the NOS kit of your choice and have a competent person install it....don't over do it and have fun!!!

Thats what the fuel pressure switch is there for. If your fuel pressure drops it will cut out the nitrous. I would use a wot switch along with an arming switch. Then wire up the fuel pressure switch as your safty. That means three switchs would have to be closed for the system to operate. You would have to have the system armed via the dash switch. You would have to be at wot. You would also need the fuel pressure needed to operated the system safely. Very simple and very safe.

The NOS Cheater single plate system can go to 250 and the Big Shot plate system can go as high as 500. That throws the idea of a plate being limited to 150. As for how much you might wanna run with your engine, 100 to 125.
