How's this engine sound for boost?

Car: 1979 Camaro Sport Coupe
Engine: 350 LM1 with 083 2.02/1.60 heads
Transmission: TH350, soon to be 2004R
Axle/Gears: 2.41, soon to be 3.42
How's this engine sound for boost?

Here's what it would look like:

- 14093638 2-Bolt Block from 1989 IROC-Z converted to splayed 4-bolt w/ ARP stds. The block gets blue printed, plate honed to .040" over, street filled with Hard Blok, and the deck "plugged".

- The rotating assembly would consist of a 4340 forged crank (3.480") and rods (6.000") from Crower, with full-floating forged pistons (8cc) from JE.

- Custom Hyd-Roller cam from Crower with a 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 firing order spec'n out at 218/228 @.050", .492"/.492" Lift, 112/108 LSA/ICL. 1.6 Pro Mag roller rockers bumping the lift up to .525".

- 74cc AFR 195's with the Cmpetition package and L98 angled plugs.

- 9.02:1 CR with FPP-1003 head gaskets

Am I leaving anything out? If so let me know, I'm kinda burnt right now. Anyhow, this thing would probably use the stock 52mm throttle body, and possibly the stock intake setup, though suggestions are welcome.

So what do you think, sound good for a P1SC ProCharger? I'd like to keep this thing as streetable as possible...

BTW- The transmission would be a Stage-3 700R4 from BowtieOverdrives mated to a Gear Vendors UD/OD unit.

I'm try'n to work out all the kinks before I go buy'n stuff, luckily however I have the time, the money and the block

No, there's no car just yet, but the car will be an 88 or 89 IROZ-Z... I'll have it no other way!

Your better off with a bigger reverse dome piston, and a smaller chamber, than a smaller piston, and bigger chamber.

Why fill the block??

I forgot to mention that I'd be having the combustion side of the heads cearamic coated, including the valve faces, along with the tops of the pistons. I'd also considder have'n the exhaust ports coated.

I too would like to go with a bigger dish in the piston instead of the 74cc chambers but with a 6" rod I only get a 1.26" compression height, and I don't know if I want to risk using a piston with 14cc's dug out of it, but I have yet to talk to the guys at JE or Crower (since they work hand in hand together) about this. However, if they give me the go ahead I'd totally go for the 68cc chambers and 14cc pistons.

Why fill the block? Why not? A street fill only consist of filling to the bottom of the freeze plugs with the deck level, both by length and by width. There are MANY advantages to this, with only one disadvantage, the time it takes to do the job right. By filling a block before you have the machine work done you GREATLY increase the strength and rigidity of the cylinders, which when coupled with a honing plate, gives you the roundest cylinders you could imagine! And have you ever seen how much a cylinder can flex under load? WOW! This is where alot of the wear comes from after years of driving. By doing a street fill you can virtually eliminate cylinder wear (to an extent ofcourse). I could spend all day going over the benefits of this but really, all you need to do is pick up "How to Build Max Performance Chevy Small Blocks on a Budget" by David Vizard. I know he gets into street fills in some of his other books but he going into it pretty well in the one too so yeah... Check out Hard Blok's website too, there's alot of info there.

You know, I spent alot of time going over in my head how I'd set up the TPI to work with the 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 firing order but I realized something this morning that made me feel stupid! The TPI setup in these cars is a bank-to-bank system, so no worries, I'm much happier now!

About the D1SC, why would you suggest it over the P1SC? It's obvious that it flows more, which is great for top end performance, but how would it perform down low? And which of the two would give me the best mileage under normal driving conditions?

I'm looking for the best of both worlds really, which is why the block will be build to be so efficient.

With the 700R4/Gear Vendor combo, 3.42's and 275/40-17's I'd only be turning around 1750 RPM @ 70 MPH in 8th, so she should get decent mileage either way, perhaps better with the D1SC?

Whatcha think?
