n20 users help on jetting.. not gettn 100hp shot..

Fellas,

Here is the problem. I am jetted for a 100 shot (to the ground says nx) when I sprey im pretty sure that it is no where close to 100 hp. If I were to guess I would say its about 50 hp. Here is what im doing.
I have a 1991 z28 5.7. It runs a 13.6 on motor and street tires.
My n2o set up is a single wet fogger in the intake tube about 3-4 inches before the TB. Fuel pressure is 46 PSI.
I bumped back the timing about 3*.
The jets are 52n/24f (100 shot. )
my AFR meter shows me pretty rich when spraying.

NX claims 100hp to the wheels but im either expecting to much or its not actually 100. it is a very noticeable increase in acceleration but i not what I was expecting. Like I said above I guess roughly about 50-60hp

Here is the link to the Gm jetting guide
Nitrous express Jet sizing chart

Am I doing anything wrong here? Any guesses or something obvious? Help please..

thanks

-Tony

This time of year, I’m guessing that your bottle is cold and your N2O pressure is fairly low…

What is it with everyone attaching a large pic of something that really doesn’t have much to do with their question?

Yep, bottle pressure. Do you have a gauge? It should be around 1000 psi. when you spray.

it was in the low to almost mid 900 psi range. will that little pressure difference from 1000 make the difference? ill try it with the 1000 psi nextime i sprey..

well i was also wondering if any one would commet on the location. im assuming its ok. and if it wasnt i would guess it would be pointed out.

thanks for the info.

900 should still be ok.

The location seems to be ok, but from what I've heard, it's better to have it 6-8" infront of the TB. But I don't think it'll make that big of a difference.

I'm still not seeing where the 24 jet gives you 100 HP? The link that you gave shows you should use anywhere from a 28-31 fuel jet. I wouldn't trust an a/f gauge unless it was using a wide band O2. So I don't care if it's reading rich.

i can try the 28 but i think ill be just dumping excess feul in the motor.

let me know if im wrong but., with the n2o from how i understand it that the n2o jet is the major determination on the hp shot. then the fuel jet is to supplement the fuel injectors to stop leaning out and damageing the motor, if its to rich im just going to loose the hp id be making (right?)

are there any other ways to monitor the afr that arent gonna cost 300- 400 bucks for a wide band o2 set up?

You could always have someone follow you while you spray and see if there's black smoke or raw fuel dumping out. But that's not very accurate.

The mojority of the power increase you get from nitrous isn't from the gas itself. It's from the added fuel. The N2O is used to help from getting too rich when you dump in additional fuel. Same deal as timing advance. Add extra fuel in a NA application and it runs rich, add some timing and you make more power.

The nitrous allows you to use more fuel which makes more power. What have you got to loose. I'd go by what the chart says, there's a reason they spend so much money on R & D.

Project....your right in the real world, no heat waves and certainly the skin on you r face doesn't move, but everytime I have ridden in a V8 car w/ more than a 50 shot, the tires spun. I guess the most I have had them spin was in my friends 83 mustang w/ a 100 shot. We hit it in 4th gear at about 55mph, and wow! Tires were asmokin!!
