Will a quality gear drive mess with the antiknock sensor??

I have a stock 1987 305 TPI that I would like to put a good quality gear drive in for the "sound appeal". The motor will remain stock except breathing and exhaust improvement. MY QUESTIONS: Will the gear drive mess with the antiknock sensor and cause it to signal the computer to retard the spark (as if the car were detonating) ?????? I keep thinking I read an article in a magazine or on this forum warning of this. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY HANDS ON EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ON A TPI MOTOR??? I would prefer first hand experience over theory. If you are using one, what brand, were the instructions good, quiet or noisy version, did the cover fit with no grinding?????? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might create some "false knock" but I have no experience to back it up, as I only used it on carbed motors. Even the non-noisy ones are pretty loud. I think a noisy or non-noisy
thing comes from the materials used and not so much from how the gears are cut, since I looked at both types closely and the design seems to be the same (Pete Jacksons) gears cut at the same angles etc. It could be that they use a softer material for the quiet ones ...I dont use them anymore, dont like them...but thats just me...
