Nitrous Nozzle Location
Question: Are there any guidelines/recommendations as to how close to the throttle body nitrous nozzles should be placed in the intake tract?
Background: I am running a fuel injected 383 (previously TPI, now miniram) that I had a NOS 5151 n2o kit on. This is the older style plate kit with the plate being placed between the throttle body and plenum and a fogger nozzle in each side of the plate.
I recently got a good deal on a Lingenfelter 58mm throttle body. All is well with the throttle body but it is considerably larger than the stock TB and barely clears the waterneck so there is no way to fit the 1/2" plate in there as well.
I was planning on fabbing up an aluminum or steel intake tract and tapping for the nozzles but I am not sure if this will cause any distribution problems. I am running a 150 shot (play shot by some standards).
Thank you for any input.

The farther you get from the throttle body the softer the hint will be. Usually, within 6” is recommended, but I’ve used more to soften a big N2O hit

Just to finish this off for any future searches, I ended up 6-7 inches in front of the throttle body. It worked great and like Mark said above it softened the hit. Came on very smooth.
Thanks again,
