To you m90 experts out there a few Q's

Hi, im 18 and just massaged a carbed 305 into a 88 mazda rx7, it lacks something lol, I came across this website and would greatly appriciate any tips as to super charging my 305 with a single eaton m90, Im really hoping you guys can help, Im booed and hissed at in the rx7 world and then most muscle car guys scoff at me lol

IE:
-did you run an intercooler?
-how did you make your mounting brackets to mount them to the passanger side of the motor?
-how did you pipe your system?
-did you have to play with the advance? (Im only looking to run the stock 6-7psi)
-water injection? good or bad?
-Also a complete schematic of thje piping, ex: filter->sc->intercooler-> blow off valve-> carb box, hows that sound?
-Does my carb need to be prepped for the 6 psi?
-Will running V-belts be bad?
-The stock rx7 fuel pump pushes 30 psi, of course I have that knocked down to 5.5 psi for the 305 will I need to turn up the pressure?
- lastly hows the stock super coupe intercooler? any good?

Current mods:
-680cfm quadrajet
-Flow Tech after burner headers
-Removed PS/AC
-Weiland Intake
-2.5inch duals all the way back
-Custom machined alum. Drive shaft
-Electric fans
any help would be greatly greatly appriciated, Id be happy to send pics to your e-mail just let me know the address.

My e-mail is Rx7wheelman@yahoo.com

Also, if anyone can get their hands on a m90 at their local junkyard or something im looking to buy one that spins freely, they can be found on Ford super coupes, mercury xr-7's, and newer grand prix

Thanks a ton, Aaron

Re: To you m90 experts out there a few Q's

No

-how did you make your mounting brackets to mount them to the passanger side of the motor?

my brother’s setup on a 5.0 ford… just made a bracket that held it above the valve cover and bolted to the accessory bolt holes on the passenger side head. Moved the passenger side accessories to the driver’s side.

-how did you pipe your system?
-did you have to play with the advance? (Im only looking to run the stock 6-7psi)

right now it’s running with the timing locked out at 33 degrees and sees about 8-9 psi boost… of course the compression is in the mid/high 8’s with aluminum heads.

-water injection? good or bad?

good if you have detionation

-Also a complete schematic of thje piping, ex: filter->sc->intercooler-> blow off valve-> carb box, hows that sound?

in a carb box… no.

-Will running V-belts be bad?

for the accessories? Not a problem, but you’ll have a hard time finding v-belts that will hold enough power to run the blower.

The stock rx7 fuel pump pushes 30 psi, of course I have that knocked down to 5.5 psi for the 305 will I need to turn up the pressure?

it will need to be boost refrenced

- lastly hows the stock super coupe intercooler? any good?

Donno, brother sold it before the project was even started.

Why not a carb box? isn't a carb box the same as a carb hat? or carb bonnet?

what did you use for the fuel pressure regulation?

I have an extra accessories groove on my crank shaft pulley how could I convert that back to serpentine?

Carb box pretty much pressurizes the whole carb so no mods are required to it, where a hat forces boost through it and out the non pressurized areas.

His setup is fuel injected and used a T-bird turbo coupe regulator on an adaptor block that I made for it.

Grove- use an aftermarket supercharger crank pulley or weld something to what you have

so if running a carb I would need a boost controlled reg. to adjust fuel psi to the boost psi right?

thanks ahead of time guys, im a body man lol
