Nitrous users-- How many passes per bottle on 150 shot?

just wondering how many passes people get out of a 10lb. bottle with a 150 shot? How about a 200 shot? I'm considering putting nitrous on my 11:1 383. Any suggestions?

3-4 SOLID high 12/low 13 second runs W/ Purging at the line. NX Bottle heater definately helps keep the temps up here in Michigan. After the 3-4 runs, pressure is dropping way too much in the bottle which means the Air/Fuel ratio starts dropping, big power loss, etc.

Trying a 15lbs bottle this year and a lot of 100 and 150 shot passes. Hopefully it's good for an extra 2 runs. Quicker than 12's also if the planets are aligned just right.

.8 lbs of nitrous for every 100hp per 10seconds. 1.2lbs per 10sec, or 1.42lbs per 12sec. so you are looking at about 7 maximum runs if you have a bottle heater and are able to keep the pressure at least 950psi. that would leave you with 2.9lbs. it would be possible to run on this 2.9lbs, but the expansion from the liquid to gas in side of the bottle will hurt performance when the solinoid opens. i would not do more than 6 serious runs though. you can try and get your local refil station to put 12lbs in your bottle, but be careful in the heat.

I am not trying to start a flame war, but you wont get 7 runs in a 1/4 mile with 100 shot, I use my bottle every month I have a 10, and a 15lb. While spraying 200 I got 5 runs out of my 15lb. so a 100 out of a 10 will never make 7 runs... I get 6 runs in an 1/8 mile out of a 100 shot...

i understand about the flame war notion. i was only listing the technical data as to how a nitrous system is rated.

it would depend if you purge the system alot and if you hit it off the line. i was assumeing he hit it about 60-80 feet out where the car would not spin.

but at any rate id say you are also right
