i would be interested in the answer to this as well.

my motor is as follows
Flat top Forged trw pistons (4valve relief) (i calculate my compression at around 9:1, if i go with a thicker head gasket itll be around 8.5:1. im just not sure if i can go with a thicker head gasket without blowing out the gasket
GM X rods (forged) polished beams and arp bolts
cast crank
Dart Iron eagle 215cc 2.05/1.60 heads
B&M 144 blower
750 edelbrock carb
long tube headers through bullets
224/235 @.050
.465/.488 lift with 1.5 rockers
1.6 roller rockers (im unsure of the new lift)

i would like to run around 7 lbs of boost and possibly a 100-125 shot of nitrous if im not happy with my results with the blower. id like to achieve 11.6-11.7 and have it be streetable. however, id prolly settle for 12.3 and streetable.

About five years ago when I had a Paxton, I experimented with nitrous. But as weird as it may seem, because you own a roots style blower, I think you'll gain more knowledge by going to this Ford forum. I also own a 2003 Cobra which has an intercooled root-style blower. Many guys who own this car add nitrous. What's interesting are the gains with nitrous. Using 50-hp jets will typically gain over 100 horses and so forth. Do a search here:

Yeah, on roots-style cars, using nitrous will usually gain anywhere from 160-200% of what the shot is rated for, simple theory really. Roots make so much heat, not allowing for much timing without detonation, so the nitrous not only cools the intake charge considerably, but it also adds the HP gains of nitrous, so you can effectively use Nitrous in the same fashion as non-intercooled centrifugal/turbo cars use Meth injection, with even greater results.

What about using a small dry shot (75) on top of an older centrifugal blower like the Procharger 600b with minimal boost (6-8psi)?
Would it still have a positive effect or would it be unsafe on a stock bottom end?
What should timing be set at?

It would be dependant on the type of system and what area your air-fuel was at. If you're using a wet system, and the bottom end is holding strong, it'd be not too much of a concern. If it's on a mass air system, and you're got the car fattened up enough, just spray a dry system through the MAF, and as long as you have enough fuel pump/injector capability, let 'er buck.
