Procharger Hardware...?
A buddy of mine has a D1 setup w/3 core IC that came off his '02 Chevy truck that has about 8,000 miles on the setup and less than 50 on the headunit after it was rebuilt by Procharger. Anyhow, he's practically giving me his setup. Here's the question: Can anyone give me a part number/numbers on any brackets that come with the TPI kits? I've tried calling Procharger, but instead of offering help they just try to sell me a new kit. Maybe someone could provide me with a picture of a unit installed or of the mounting bracket. Has anyone made brackets? I spent the better part of an hour searching for a picture good enough to use as a guide line. Also do the TPI kits have a seperate belt or does it run off the serpintine belt like the newer truck kits? For added info, this will be on a ported Vortec headed 383 with a Superram in a '89 1/2 ton silverado, Serp. brackets came off of a '88 IROC. As always, thanks for any help guys

It runs off a seperate belt. I'll look at reciepts and try to find you the part #. I too hate ATI's phone service- has screwed me before (don't get me started). Try one of there vendors (t byrne, etc). They will probably be more helpful, because they want the sale.

Do you by chance have any pics of the kit before the install? I'm hoping I can get lucky enough to just be anble to heavily modify the truck brackets and componenets to get it all to work. Of course, there's about a 1 in a million chance of that working , thats why I'm here looking for help
In order to make that kit work on your car, you might need to get the blower re-clocked, (about $125 at ATI). The truck kit for the 5.3 has the blower in the 12:00 position, the 5.7 truck kit has the blower in the 2:00 position, your kit will need the blower to be in the 2:00 position. You'll need the main bracket assembly, Part# 3GCBB-03 about $370. You'll also need the crank pulley and spacer Part# DC009I-3 $35, and DC009A-8 $150. That's just what you need to mount and drive the blower. You also have to take into consideration that the tubing and intercooler mounting locations won't be the same. That can be handled with a little ingenuity (sp?).

great those are the numbers I've been looking for. Is the TPI headunit in th 2:00 position or just the 5.7 TBI head unit? Also those numbers are parts in the TPI kit correct? (just making sure, you threw me off some with the mention of the 5.7 truck.) What about a tensioner? Is there one with the TPI kits or is it on the mounting bracket? Intake tubing isn't a big deal, and I'm going to try and mount the IC on the core support were the condenser once was or under the core support between the frame like the other truck kits. So yeah, I'll have to make mounting brackets for it. Again, I would call ATI and get the info for myself, but anyone who has dealt with Procharger knows how their customer service is. Also, have any of you Procharger guys had a problem with belt slippage. At 12+ psi we had a hard time keeping the belt on the head unit. If it did stay on, you could feel the truck surge with boost bouncing between 8-12. I was just curious if you guys ran into the same problem. Most guys with the truck systems have had similar problems at 12+ psi. Maybe because of the serp. belt running the head unit? Any thoughts?

The tensioner is a manual type instead of a spring type. It comes with the main bracket assembly. BTW, I called ATI and made sure to ask really specific questions, that's how I got all those numbers within 5 minutes of being on the phone. (bored at work) I have the same kit on my car and I'm seeing 14 psi with a D1SC with no problems.
