8/71 blower

Hello,

I can buy a Detroit 8/71 Blower.
But does it matters when there are some small scrathes on the rotors?

I imagine small scratches on the rotors might cause a little more air leakage.

If it's not been converted to gas yet, you'll be having to send it to a shop or pulling it apart to have tolerances and bearings redone anyways.

I know you're out of the country and parts are probably extremely highly priced over there, but keep in mind BDS does a rebuild service (6/71) for about $700 + shipping US. That's just the basic charge, it might be more if you actually need'd new rotors. So, converting an old blower could add up pretty quick.

Thanks for your reaction.
Are the parts of the different fabricators off superchargers interchangeable.
So that I can use a front cover off a Weiand for a BDS or Detroit for example?

Hmm... I don't really know.

You might wander around the net some I'm sure there's a definite answer out there.

For now here's some rebuilding and part urls:
