Supercharged 383
Hello there! I recently started putting together a possible build for a 383 NA car..
After spending many endless nights reading some very useful (and some not so useful) posts on the topic, I started wondering how a 383 would respond to a supercharger? I guess I should rephrase that.
I want to have a mid 11 second car sometime before now and my death (I'm 21, I hope I have time *knocks on wood*). And I was hoping to get there on all motor.. but I only see those times from people running much larger CID motors than I will be doing.
Basically what I'm getting at is.. I was planning on extensively porting the plenum and runners and possibly the base as well. My main question is, will I need to do all of this to hit mid 11's with a 383 with forced induction? I was told that the forced induction negates the need to smooth out air flow. I'm sure there is still some benefit, but not the dramatic increase it would get on an NA engine.
If anyone could help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated.
-PS- Another concern is also traction off the line.. The 383 already poses problems without some extensive suspension work.. Any ideas about a 383 supercharged?

Does a 383 need boost? No. Just go with high compression if you want to keep it N/A to reach mid 11's.

We talkin 11:1? haha. I am really gonna shy away from high compression cause I'd like to stay with pump gas =/ It's a tough compromise between power and daily driver stuff. But who knows! by the time this things done I might not need it as a daily driver
