im putting a turbo on my 2.8 v6 rs and ive pretty much goten the ex system routing figured out .Any idea how loud it would be if i just ran a dump pipe on the ext wastegate that exited infront of the front tire< or would i be better off dumping back into the downpipe

 

If your exhaust is at all loud already, you probably won't really notice since it's only fullly open at WOT. I've heard some external dumps that aren't noticeable at all beyond the exhaust, but I've heard some that are a bit louder. None I have heard are deafening. So in short, maybe, maybe not.

The only thing to worry about when routing back into the downpipe is to make sure the wastegate is large enough and that there isn't too much backpressure behind the spot the tube dumps back into it (from cats and mufflers, etc), otherwise you may get some boost creep. It's usually not an issue though.

i doubbt thered be much backpresure, im going from my 3inch no cat with flowmaster to a 4inch with hi flow cat/ spintech system,i quess ill try the open dump tube for now if it is to loud for a daily driver ill modify it to dump back into the down pipe.
