I just put my engine together got it fired up and there is alot of backfiring and smoke. I have the blower belt off but could the external fuel pump be flooding the engine. My unit is a Procharger P600B and I have the fuel pressure set at 40 psi. My computer doesnt give me any codes so I dont know whats going on. My timing is at 6btc and my firing order is correct. All the ignition components are new. My guess is bad MAF or computer but why doesnt it give me codes. Any one out there with any advise please help.This is happening on an 88 GTA 5.7
