Supercharging. Good or bad?
Supercharging. Good or bad?
look, i know most of you are gonna say "go for it", but i would like to take some major thinking before i plunk down cash and time. I have a FULLY MODDED 355 TPI 4-bolt w/Trick Flow heads, cam, intake, yada, yada. The WHOLE works, even forged pistons w/9.25:1 compression. What do you guys think? Tell me your stories, good and bad. Thanks guys...

I would think that with a good fuel system and some computer work and 16# boost....you would have one he11 of a ride....

I had (have actually) a similar setup to yours.. zz3 with afr heads (approx 9.3:1 compression), etc and I ran across a roots 142 blower. Anxious to try it out, I neglected to check and limit my timing advance. I ended up breaking a ring land on one piston on the second day! However, my mistake aside, I was astounded at the increase in power (especially mid range torque).. And I was only getting about 4 or 5 pounds of boost due to my cam profile (a 110 lobe seperation).. With a cam change I could have seen 8 ot 10 pounds. You won't regret boosting as long as you're careful with tuning... You should be able to run at least 12-14 psi intercooled into that 9.2:1 engine without any problems.
