Can a totally stock 91 5.7 do 12.5 with N2O???
While Im still working on my Procharged 88 GTA I have taken on a new venture. That is to get my recently aquired 91 Trans Am into the mid 12`s with the fewest mods possible. Im counting on you guys to feed me some proven ways to go fast but remeber simple is the key here.
5.7 auto 3.27 gears thats it. N2O will be the key
------------------
88GTA 5.7(under construction) ATI Procharger,58mmTB,ported plenum,SLP runners,Edelbrock HI-FLO base.ported heads,1.5RR,210/220/480 compcam,AFPR,SLP1 3/4 headers,3.70 gears,Eibach drag launch,Lakewood LCA`s, Nitto drag radials.

Get it hooked up first. Mickey T ET Drags or at least ET Steets. A shorter torque arm or southside lift bars.
Then free up the exhaust as much as you can.
It will take a good bit of nitrous to get mid 12s but it can be done easily enough. Because of the large amount of nitrous being used a fuel system upgrade would be a good idea. An inline add on pump like the T-Rex or simular should be enough.
To get the most power to the ground use a two stage system. I reccomend The Nitrous Express 2 stage kit. It has jets for 50, 75, 100, 150 ×2. this will give you a total "hit" of 50 to 300 hp in two steps. Nitrous Express kits are rated in rear wheel HP numbers so that is some serious power added. Be aware that this much nitrous is safe on a sound motor only if there is no detonation or lean condition present.
More free acceleration is posible if you lighten the car. Many people under estimate the difference a few pounds can make. Stripping the sound insulation out of an F body will considerably pick up ET. If you put everything else (carpet & panels) back no one can see the difference.
