Supercharger for '87 GTA (LB9)
Im looking into throwing a supercharger onto a remaufactured 305 im going to be getting. I have the choice between purchasing one with Flat Tappet cams or Hydraulic Rollers. I was wondering which would be best. Also, to purchase the right supercharger for my car what would i need to know about the motor.

go with the roller cam, it's correct for 1987 cars.
As for the engine, you'll need to determine what pulleys are gonna be on it. If you have a v-belt setup (85-87 factory setup), there's only one supercharger kit available for tpi. That's the paxton sn9X kit. If you go with serpentine belts (88-92 factory), there's a world more options open to you.
Another thing you'll want to know about the engine is what compression it has, and what rings, pistons, and rods are in it. A high compression motor is not a good mix with a supercharger. Also, with weaker pistons, rods, and rings, there will be a definite limit to what kind of boost you can run.

It will work. Here is a thread about it. Be sure to read the replies on it from willie & guido.

Also about the roller cam, not only is it correct for the car as stated above ('87 & newer had rollers), you will get better gas milage, more power potential, & better oil life from it.
