arazona speed runners?
arazona speed runners?
going to get new runners and my ? is this shold i get the large tube runners or the semi siamese.i'm running approx 7-8 psi boost and it seems that with my 3.23's that i dont want to loose torque down low, because that is what it takes to get the rpm's up and the boost building.of course i have enough power to spin the tires but this car is more of a driver than a racer and roll on power is inportent.
thanks

listen, TPI or L98 motors are TORQUE MONSTERS.
the only way you are going to notice a torque loss is when you put a miniram on...but then it is even less noticeable.
Get the semi siamesed runners, you will be much happier. They will make more horsepower up top where the TPI/L98 motors need it. the more the intake tract is restricted....the less hp the car is going to make.

hello i used to use the slp simiesed runners
they work great. after you use them for a wile
you will find you want even moer power.
so what i did was start to port them between the tubes
also if your going to use a blower its best to go
bigger on all intake stuff.
i change to a super ram just for the flow

tell you what, why don't you forget the runner problem and get the cheapest, or keep the stock ones. You are running boost. Get yourself an effective aftercooler to lower your intake temps and you'll have more torque than the runners could ever make. An after cooler adds huge power gains over the entire RPM range so there is no trade off.
well i think he has water injection being that it is a paxton
i still say get the runners. L98 produce so much torque to begin with and then your adding boost.....with a little less restriction in the intake it will wake the car up a lot

yo 89, the aftercooler is completely different from water injection.. doesn't do the same thing.
water injection is for detonation control and slows down the burn rate and kills power in the process.
The aftercooler increases air density and adds huge amounts of power.

water simply doesn't burn. The steam takes up space in the chamber displacing fuel & air and slows the burn rate of the fuel the same way nitrogen does in the case of nitrous oxide.
an engine running only fuel of the required octane will make more power than the engine running lower octane +water injection.
Those guys use the water to resist detonation so they can get away with less octane.
alcohol is a different story since it is also a fuel and acts similar to 120 octane gasoline.
a turbo engine running on straight methanol would make lots more power than the same engine running high octane gasoline, or gasoline with water injection.
none of these methods would equal the effects of a good aftercooler to cool the intake charge.

Go with the siamesed runners. with forced induction you will want shorter runners.
As far as the H2O injection thing, yes it cools the intake charge some but not nearly as much as an intercooler. The water does slow down combustion. In doing so it does reduce the chance of detonation. The same engine will make more power without water injection so long as there is no detonation. If it detonates it will lose power (and maybe parts). Using higher octain fuel without H2O injection will make more power. Using an intercooler will make even more power with less risk of detonation.
