will nitrous work in my car?
Thinking of nitrous, will it work with my car and not harm it?
91 truck 350
no emissions
holley red fuel pump
edelbrock valve springs
comptetion cam
performer rpm intake
holley 750 d.p.
how much work and money would it cost to do this? thanks

it all depends on a lot of things, when youre asking about nitrous you need to be really really specific, ie: about how many miles on your truck? how well is your motor tuned? how much nitrous do you want to run? do you have a good ignition system/fuel system? has your motor ever had a problem with running too lean or backfiring? answer all those questions and lm sure someone will be really happy to give you a direct answer. as far as the question is it safe? thats directly related to how much you want to run and how well your motor runs.

i am just looking for some power just for the fun of it, racing mustangs and my friends, i don't really intend on it for drag racing, just want to know i have some backup power. the engine has about 2,000 since rebuilt. I am planning on putting some new heads on sometime soon which are bothering the car now, but sould fix my problem (white smoke)

l'd say you could safely run 100-150 trust me once you feel the 100 jets youll slip the 150's in just to see how it feels (huge difference)in my opinion. as long as youve got a good ignition, and a good fuel pump youre good to go just remember that you MUST retard the timing 1 degree per 50 HP gain no matter how you do it, unless youve got an igntion retard control DO NOT run a fuel curve adjusting/spark timing adjusting chip with nitrous. make sure the motors getting enough fuel and the spark is constant and if anything somewhat retarded. rememer 1 degree per 50 gain 150 HP= 3 degrees (or more) retarded.
