gas mileage change with a supercharger

Axle/Gears: 9" from 57 ranchero unsure gears.
gas mileage change with a supercharger

just curious how good/bad is everyones mileage with the supercharger mounted on just normal daily driving (not hammering it at every stop light).

'87 Monte Carlo SS,with '89 IROC 350,700 trans, blew up 3.73 posi stuck with crappy 2.73's neeed gears! hooker headers, flowmaster 2 1/2" exhaust true dualls, recently installed a set of alum vette heads 58cc, new cam for a paxton, recently installed paxton, OMG need a posi bad. So if anyone knows where a buick GN 8.5" rear is let me know.

Sorry to hear you bought a Paxton. Mine blew up every 10,000 miles with an external oil cooler and oil changes every 2,000 miles. Quit after 3 units died. But to answer your question my truck picked up 1 mpg running the super charger. I did do some tunning to it. It ran extremely rich when I first hooked it up. I hooked a summit racing Rich/Lean guage to my O2 sensor and drove it around seeing where it ran and adjusted the fuel pressure. Not as good as the DIY chip burning method but it did work. I got it as good as 20mpg on the highway the best I ever got stock was 19mpg. That 20 was running with cruise at 72mph. The truck was running a mild cam, TES headers, Random tech Cat, and Dynomax Cat back. Now that I am running without the supercharger. I am running about 18.6 consistently on the highway and about 15 in town (about the same blown).
