vortech people.....help me please.
OK, heres the deal.
A friend called me up the other day and said he just ordered a vortech for his 88 GTA and I get to install it. The install doesn't worry me, I can hang with that, but what else should we replace to keep up with the S/C??
He has the 350, shorty headers, larger runners, 3.73s, and a AFPR.
Should we step up to larger injectors??
What fuel pressure should we run??
Do we need to recalibrate?? (chip. etc.)
I hate to ask stupid questions but I hate to do things twice even worse.
I just don't want to get in there and find out later that now we need to up the injectors to get the most out of it.
Money isn't really an issue, I just want to do it right the first time.
Thanks in advance, any help here is greatly appreciated.

Those kits are deisnged for stock engines. And it doesnt sound like your friend's car is that far from stock. Vortech sends an FMU with that kit so putting that in should take care of fuel needs.
As far as the PROM, you will want a STOCK one in there. All the aftermarket ones advance timing which isnt good for blowers unless you are using some kind of detonation supression like water injection or race gas.
its pretty straight forward. The best way to tell would be to get a scan tool or diacom and get some readings to see what the engine is doing under boost conditions.
Good luck!
if anymore questions, we are here.
