Hey people,

I'm new to this board and I just started thinking about getting NOS for my car. My car is an 86 TA with 305 TPI and 700R4. My question is how much n2o can my engine take without doing any damage. The engien is ALL stock, no cast pistons or anything like that.

Will the extra NOS mess up my tranny or my rear.

I would not do more than a 75 shot on the car. If you have the nitrous on when the tranny shifts then sure it will be harder on it. If you are on slicks and hit the nitrous off the line, sure it will be harder on it.

75 should be good for the motor though. I would do a step colder plug and have a good tuneup at all times, as well as run good 93 octane and make sure your Fuel Pressure does not fall off upper RPMs ESPECIALLY on n2o

The stock motor has cast pistons. A 100 shot is pretty safe even 125 if you are careful getting the mixture right. Some have run even more on a 305 but I would wait until you have a lot more experience before you try anything like that.
