Turbocharger Gains?
Turbocharger Gains?
How much of a gain of HP and Torque for a 305 TBI? How much do turbos go for used?

Yeah, Lo3 isn't really up to turbo's. It would be hard enough to get the TBI and turbo's to work, let alone make any great power gains. You'd be much better off with a stronger platform. Take the time and put together a 383, you won't be disapointed.

One Eye,
It really all depends on what amount of boost you are generating to shove down the chanmbers and cylinders of the 305. Any motor can be equipped to use turbos so long as it was running good to start with and is not high in mileage. A boost of no more than 8psi is recommended for a stock engine. Going higher, you'll have to strengthen the bottom end at a minimum. Pistons are the most fragile, followed by the rods and crank allthough seals, rings/gaskets can go also.
My best advice to you is to purchase a couple of fine books, "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell and "Turbochargers" by Hugh McInnes that goes into much more detail than I can give you.
