Nitrous Preparations

Hello, I want to run nitrous on my '91 GTA 350. Which kit should I get the NOS one or the Nitrous Express one? Also what else do I need to run nitrous? AFPR? MSD? Timing Retard? Etc. Thanks

I'd say whichever brand you can find for cheaper, both are great systems and well made, NOS is more commonly used so it's easier to locally find parts for, but what you will need is a good working ignition-not nessecarely upgraded, stock works well too, stock fuel pump is adequate, I'd reccomend a nitrous and fuel pressure gauges, new plugs, cap, rotor and new wires, new fuel filter. thats about it, you can run up to 150 HP shot on a 350 without harming it, NOS doesnt make any reccomendations to retard the timing at all, but I would use this rule of thumb to be on the safe side: 1 degree retard per 50 HP gain. hope this helps a little and good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions

NOS is Junk my friend, NX has a nozzle system instead of a plate system!! did you know that on NOS EFI plate system, they dont reach the first 2 cylnders!!! NX is the best, I had a bone stock 305, and was shooting a 150 shot it held up fine, I would though atleast recommend the AFPR and the Nitrous gauge, because the reason a engine blows up from nitrous is because the bottle pressures not right, and it is too lean and can seep threw the rings causing detonation below the rings!!!!

That's weird I have a NOS fogger nozzle system on my TPI. I like the NX systems better also but I couldn't pass up a complete setup for $150.

I personally wouldn't buy the NOS system again but I do like the spray bar behind the throttle body. My advice is get a system with a spray plate but not nos. Also, I put in a hobbs switch to kill the juice if my fuel pressure drops, a clutch switch (where applicable), and of course the micro thr. switch. I also pulled 5 degrees of timing with my msd digital 6. I just ran a 12.44 @114 so the spray is worth it. Email me if you have specifics
