Nitrous for 5.7 GTA

Looking for some opinions/experience on whether the 5.7/700r4 can handle a 150hp nitrous kit if used responsibly.

that is said to be your "max safe limit" for a stock 350 that has no problems be sure it is a wet kit.

i've heard the key to nitro is not to not use more than half your HP in a shot of nitrous. exmaple if you have 300 HP you shouldn't use more than a 150HP shot. unless your engine was built to handle nitro (new cam, forged pistons,etc.).

3000 gt is right I just remembered that a "stock" gm chevy 350 could safely handle 150 shot I suppose That is a super genaric term (stock chevy 350) being gm makes so many differant ones. nos is just like adding perf. mods say if you ad a cam intake heads ect. you get 200 hp. it would do the same damage as 200 hp of nos. being both are set up right. a lot of nos users run lean and that when you hear them say they melted there pistions and such.

the key to nitrous is to have a strong bottom end (4 bolt mains) forged pistons, and a strong crank matched with hardened con rods. using the HP method is an unreliable way. for instance. you may have a stock internal 305. lets say you add a cam, heads, headers and a good intake. lets say it bumps you up a good 100 horsepower (this may not be accurate but just for the purpose of the story.) now youve got 330 HP. now lets say you add a 6 PSI blower. which bumps you up another 100 HP. now youve got 430 HP with the remaining stock bottom end and stock cast pistons and stock rods and stock crank. now according to the HP theory you could safely run 215 HP worth of nitrous. but ask anyone on the board and theyll tell you it would be a grenade waiting to go off. now a stock 350 would handle a 150 HP shot of nitrous for a long time. it might even last you forever. I've got a stock bottom end and stock internals 305 and I've run about 12-13 bottles of 150 HP spray (by NOS) and to tell you the truth its been running better than ever. I'd say you'd be more than safe running a 150 HP shot on your 350. assuming the ignition and fuel systems are in good running order and up to par. good luck
hope this helps

Why 150HP? It will be a nice jump....Watch your fuel pressure and flow...
