Custom chip for blown GTA

With the help of Willie , i have discovered that my car is not running very well . I am in need of reprogramming of my fuel curve. My question is who do anyone suggest? I also am wondering if the benefits would be worth it to install a street legal cam into my car. Thanks guys

joe88gta,

Willie is the MAN!!!

I too have somewhat of the same problem, my car runs good, but i know it could be much better, so i started thinking of all the ways to optimizing my performance, I looked into burning my own chips, but being supercharged, you are limited with what you can do with a MAF ECM, so then i checked into a syclone/typhoon ECM (Willie suggested), but i still dont like the idea of everytime i perform another modification, i have to burn another chip, then i checked into a programmable ecm, this is the best route that i have found, there are alot of systems available, like the Accel DFI, speedpro, haltech and electromotive (which is a awesome system!) but they are all expensive, so that's where i'm at...undecided on which system to get and gotta save up some moola.

As far as the cam goes, if you are running a 305 then get ******* specs, (if he'll whisper them too ya), i believe he has past the sniffer test with flying colors

For "power adder" applications, the 7749 ECM used by Syclone/Typhoons is the only "stock GM" solution. You can "fudge" an SD 7730 ECM without necessarily re-writing the code to handle a 2 bar MAP, but you loose resolution and your lowest MAP reading (for BLM updates) will be 40 kpa. If you live in a high elevation area, this can cause problems as your kpa readings from the MAP Sensor will be lower with higher elevations. I find it quite common to have MAP readings below 40 KPAs while idling/part throttle when I travel in the mountains.

I cannot comment about the various DFI systems out there, but I am sure some are setup to handle 2 BAR MAPs. Just double check with the manufacturer to make sure. But you will have to convert (one way or another) to an SD type system from MAF.

Currently on the DIY PROM Board, Grumpy is looking at making the LT1's 8051 PCM work with 3rd Gen cars. There are some difficulties to overcome (like the opti-spark, SFI and the electronic transmission), but when those things get worked out, then the 8051 PCM will give you the BEST of both worlds. It will use MAF and/or SD and handle 512 gm/sec MAFs. But when this may be available is anyone's guess.
