compression ratio for nitrous
I'm building a 406 with all forged internals, 64cc heads, and was planning on running around a 10.8 ish compression ratio, and was wondering if I would be able to get away with about a 250 shot of nitrous. My cam has the following profile
Cam Style: Mechanical flat tappet
Basic Operating RPM Range: 2,800-7,200 RPM
Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift: 252
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift: 260
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 252 int./260 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration: 290
Advertised Exhaust Duration: 298
Advertised Duration: 290 int./298 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.540 in.
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.558 in.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.540 int./0.558 exh. lift
Lobe Separation (degrees): 110
I'll either run it on pump premium, or find some higher octane race fuel (I know I have something around here somewhere).

Not sure about the cam, but nitrous loves compression.
My friend ran 250shot on his 11:1 385 forged LT1.
I'd use studs to hold the heads on vs regular head bolts.

i am running 13.9 compression on my 408. on a 150 shot i gained 198 rwhp on the dyno. you just have to make sure you run race gas to prevent detonation. i run straight sunocco 110.

What are you 400ci+ guys running for head gaskets? Are those GM blocks?

Run a lower CR...like 10:1 or so. Then you can run pump gas. higher CR will require race gas. I know folks who run 11:1 CR's and have to run race gas on the 150 shot...weak. I run a stockish 9:5 CR and urn 93 octane with al il more itming and no detonation problems.
10:1, 93 octane, pull osme itming and spray and pray!
