roots style blower

i'm curious about finding a blower for a carbed engine that will provide little hood clearance problems. anybody use a roots type blower, and if so, how'd you solve any hood clearance problems? this would be for a daily driver, so i'm looking away from an exposed air scoop as it does rain here. a friend of mine suggested finding a hood with functional hood scoops like the Z-28s and IROCs have so i can get the easy access to air when i need it and plug it up for the rain season. any suggestions?

Try a cowl-induction style hood; more clearance, possibly enough to put a miniblower with a carb under it.

I have seen a little Wiend (not sure on specs) fit under a thirdgen. Don't know if the engine was dropped though.

I had a roots style blower with my tbi setup.. you will need at least a 4" cowl hood.

I ended up cutting my hood and using a harwood scoop.
