Heat soak
Dont know if this is the right board for this, but I am having some mean heat soak issues (TB mounted k&n too). Just wondering if you guys have come up with any creative ideas to dissipate heat in engine bay. doesnt have to look pretty.
Ive seen the two tech articles on CAI's already. Is there any other ways to make one?
I put this in power adder because cold air = more power

huh?
nah, this is more of a tech general engine question, this forum is for forced induction, superchargers, turbos, N2O.
2nd, what do you mean heat soak? You mean you want a cold air intake, or your starter won't start the car after the car is hot, due to heat soak?

ah, ok, the term heat soak is usually paired with a starter.
do you have headers? having them coated is the biggest thing, header cause a ton more heat.
Otherwise, there isn't much you can do to keep your engine bay cool, short of cutting a new grill in your front end, or fabbing the trans-am air vents into your quarter panels.
TBI motor? best way for a CAI is a cowl induction hood, or a bolt on cowl induction onto your stock hood, and use an open element air cleaner, and seal the air cleaner to your hood.

actually, the wrap is more expensive then I thought it was, but it's still cheaper I think. The wrap is not a good idea though, it holds in moisture, and makes it rust faster, and looks like crap.
Get 'em ceramic coated, it looks like chrome, and reduces the temp a lot.
