new to superchargers, i have a couple questions

I am possibly looking into supercharging a 350. This would end up being the last power mod I would do so I need to know what other necessary supporting mods I would need to add a supercharger. Thanks for any help in advance

Well, all the things that make a NA engine go fast are going to help a supercharged motor go fast as well, IE heads, cam, full exhaust, etc. Just make sure that the motor can handle the boost you're giving it. Don't get D1-sc and put it on you 170k LQ3.

Not to be a bearer of bad news but to take advantage on your car you'd also need a posi, possibly a new rear, depending on how much power you're trying to make, you'd have to replace/beef up your drivetrain quite a bit on an RS.

You're probably ready to slap a blower on and if I'm being a **** I'm sorry, what exatly do you have in mind?

Ok cool. No the RS is my friends that he bought that him and I work on. I am looking to pick up an IROC hopefully this summer and I am just currently in the planning stages so that when I do get it, I have a well though out plan of how I am going to go about modding it. Do not worry, you didnt come off as a ****.....this wouldnt be a few years down the road anyway.

I just have never dealt with superchargers so I don't know very much about them at all and just recently started trying to learn about them.

If you are going with a blower. Look into Magnuson's Eaton kit for SBC's. 2K for the whole kit.

Dont worry you are doing the right thing, do all your homework first, make a few calls to the companys that you are looking to deal with and such. Get a good idea about how engines work and go from there. But they are right, you dont just slap a supercharger on, you need to look at your fuel system, and also will your susspension hold up, like your tranny and rear end. But at least your not just buying things and hoping they will work, just keep own learning about the stuff and it will save you alot of grief later own. Good luck.
