V6 supercharger ?
Ok so Im looking into supercharging my V6. Since there is only 1 company that makes a kit that would work, for $3900. So not wanting to spend that kind of $$$, I decided to piece together one myself. I found a mounting plate for Vortech and the company wants $540, since its custom made. My question is, is that a good price for a mounting plate? It seems really high but I wanted to ask people who know more about this kind of thing than me. Thanks
that is way to much money,u would be better off getting the sc and taking it and the car to a race car shop/fab shop and let them build u a new bracket, prolly cost 1/2 of what the one place wants,or u could just do it urself if ya have access to the tools.

Thats what I thought too, but seeing how Im new to this I thought Id ask just to make sure. Thanks
What parts are required to put a supercharger like a Paxton NOVI-1000 unit.
I know basically nothing about retrofitting a supercharger onto a MPFI car and what fuel and discharge requirements are also needed. Can someone give me a parts list and basic explination of what needs to be done plumbing wise?
The car in question is a 2.8V6 with MAF

i remember in one of my paxton brochures that they actually made a complete kit for the 2.8, lol good luck finding it.
honestly though, making your own turbo system could potentiolay (sp?) be cheaper, and probably require the same amount of fabrication.
good luck

if you're seriously interested in fabbing(or maybe have someone else make the metal parts and you jsut gather everything and put it together) a supercharger kit i would highly suggest Supercharged! by Corky Bell.
still asking for that required parts rundown.
Can anyone list all the parts I would need to purchase for a Paxton type supercharger setup?
I am not worried the least bit about fabbing up the belt drive setup and bracketry- this is why I asked for the parts list.
It basically looks like I just need
1) the Paxton Novi-1000
2) and FMU (possibly about a 6:1 ratio)
3) a bypass valve
4) an intecooler
The rest of it is plumbing, belt setup and brackets
Correct?
