trying to find piston parts numbers
I've been looking over the past couple days for pistons for my motor build -383 (4.020 bore, 3.750 stroke, 5.7 rod) As one would guess, I'm having trouble finding anything for 20 over. Does anyone know where I can find a forged .020 over piston that would net me close to 8.5-9:1 compression with a 64 cc head? I've been able to only come up with 2 parts numbers (TRW/Speed Pro part# LW2618F30 and JE part# 131631) however both of those are for .030 and the machine shop wants $125 to take my block to .030. Any help would be appreciated.

8.5-9:1 compression with a 64 cc head?
Just keep in mind, if you find that .020" piston, if it's more than $125 more then the .030" version in a more common brand (like TRW), then it's better to just rebore the block.

yeah I'm just trying to figure out what my options are, go ahead a drop of the block or luck out and find a piston that will work. What pistons are some of you turbo/supercharged guys running with your 380 whatever's? FYI I'm stuck in this situation because I decided to run a D1SC instead of a bottle after I had everything machined and balanced. Don't think I want to run the pistons, hyper. (9.6:1), I aldready have with 10+ psi.

tried that all they could come up with was the trw part number. I'm tempted to say screw it and run the hypereutectic pistons I have and run a alky/methanol injection setup. I only "PLAN" on running 10-12 psi

I run the je extreme duty inverted dome 232514 (400ci w/5.7) with 74 cc heads that have been milled a little. very nice looking pistons. I also upgraded to the better pin. I have seen many pistons, and these are the best looking ones i have seen. (not that looks mean anything). I'm running N/A this fall, and this winter i am putting on a pair of SC61's.

the JE part# I have are those same pistons, but for a 383. I think I'm just going to run the pistons I have and hope and pray it never knocks or goes lean. Right now it's looking like pistons are going to cost around $650, $125 for block work, and another $175 to get everything re-balanced. Hope and prayer beats out $950 at this point. I guess when we get around to try to tune it I'll just run it a little on the rich side.
