Nitrous on a Stock Block
Small V8s can typically accept up to 140 extra horsepower, this range will provide maximum reliability from stock motors using cast crankshafts and pistons with few or no motor modifications.

I second that notion. Your 305 should work great at a little under the 150 jetting NOS recommends in there TPI kit (.058 to a .061 jet). This will get you the max performance out of the nitrous and not risk killing your engine. I recommend highly that you do a 180 degree or lower T stat and keep the car under 200 degrees when you run the spray. With this setup you should be fine with stock heat range plugs and timing.
