nos 100 shot - after market chip
i am installing a 100 shot wet kit from zex - i have a 350 l98 - lt4hotcam & headers - with a aftermarket chip what do i need to do with my timing? the instructions say to retard 4' but the chip has built in advance - now what?

Get your timing light out and pull 4 degrees of base timing out. It will be a tad hard to start but that should work. If not copy your prom and burn the timing advance table with - 4 degees (assuming you do your own prom burning).

you could just run higher octane without pulling timing. by higher octane i mean like 100. 93 you might get away with very little timing change needed. i run 93 on my 130 shot and from what i feel from -4 degrees i think i can bump it up a couple but id rather be safe then sorry so im leaving it

a 100 shot shouldn't need any timing retard and should run fine on 91 octane, take it out 6 degrees on the distrubutor if you want to be extra cautious but it should be perfectly fine with 4 degrees out. Also jet rich when you start out and if it black smokes or doesn't have much power lean out from there.
