Thanks!

ProCharger sells a really nice Carb Chevy kit. Give them a call and they can get you going in the right direction as far as who to go to for a blow-through carb, whatsize blower to go with, etc...

I'm blow-thru

I run the procharger kit. I use a d1sc with the 12 rib kit. Use an EV hat (procharger one not that great above 6 psi). FUEL SYSTEM--- don't cheap out. Trust me I have redone mine twice. Aeromotive a1000 with regulator and at least -08 lines. Modify your carb according to "sticky" on turbo mustang site. (I saw your post over there- a bunch of good/knowledgable guys)

It can't be too bad considering there's several blow-thrus using it going 8s.

like who?

Most that I know of run an Extreme velocity hat or the one from CSU or their own custom set-up. The ATI one causes to much turbulence (sp?). One way around this is to add a spacer, which I did when I used it- but again this is not "as delivered"

I won't pretend to know every car out there, and I am sure there are several using them as is and running well. However, from my personal expierence with blow-thru and many others over at the turbo mustang site, there seem to be better options than the ATI hat.

1) I like the o-ring seal option much better than paper gaket. I used to be able to see little bubbles when I sprayed soapy water onto it (looking for air leaks) -none now

2) The others seem to provide a better/smoother signal to the boosters, which allows me to run a slightly smaller jet, and makes it more friendly on the street.

Well, I have to admit, I had trouble finding examples. The one example I did find was ProCharger's Nova that went 8.2 with that hat.

So Extreme Velocity "delivers" an o-ringed spacer with their hats now? Interesting, I didn't know that.

Same here. I don't claim to know it all, and I do know that the Extreme Velocity hat works great, but not everybody is shooting for 8's and not everybody is willing to throw out a carb hat that comes with a kit that works just fine for 9's or 10's just because somebody else's hat is more commonly used to go 8's.

I agree.

That has a lot to do with who the carb is built by and how finely tuined it is.
