Turbo choice?
Say if I wanted to turbo my 383 instead of supecharging, What would you guys recommend I go with? I am clueless at turbos and them damn numbers.
I will probably build the engine for 8.2:1 CR.
AFR 195 heads, Miniram, and a custom cam grinded to a good turbo spec.
RPM range i want to be shifting at is around 6000 through 6500 at most. I don't want to overstress the engine if I dont need too.
I would like to get between 500-600rwhp.
the engine will have all forged internals.
What would you recommend?
Oh yea, I wanted to add this needs to be on pump gas. 91 octane.

i would go for a twin turbo setup 2 t3 .63 trim garrett turbo's so you can use 2 smaller turbo's so there is not as much lagg as 1 big turbo.

Keep it in the engine compartment, run a single T76 w/ .96 A/R Q trim on the exhaust side.....perfect for you power goals and should spool quickly....

I dont care what any person or company claims....the engine bay is more efficient than any remote mount, Plus if you think about this...a good turbo is about $1000, a remote mount kit is like setting $1000 dollars on the sidewalk in LA and not expecting anyone to take it......Heat is a major driving force of turbocharging, with a remote mount it just seems there would be a lot more backpressure due to using smaller turbine housings....and a great loss of the energy that helps drive the turbo....I just don't see major power as easily accessable from a remote mount kit.
