Re: how much can it take???

it all depends, wet or dry shot? if its a dry shot prolly no more then 75 shot.
now a wetshot is a whole diff story, weve got a member who just installed a 150 wetshot.(hasnt run it yet).the crank and rods are good for 400 hp in the v6.the weak point is the pistions, most guys who run boost break off the top ringlands.im asuming to much nitrous would do the same thing.

if u had a progressive controller im willing to bet that a 200shot wouldnt be out of the question.most damage is done when the nitrous is first injected, due to how sudden/violent the power increase is.

ive debated on building a monster nitrous v6 motor for some time now,but im happy with boost atm.

if u want to throw a serious shot of nitrous on it i would deff recomend replacing the factory pistions with a quality set of hyperectics at min, or just go get a set of forged pistions

Re: how much can it take???

yeah, im the one that just put on a 150 wet shot, test time in the next week sometime, so i will let you know what happens. i didnt replace the stock pistons. but i got a major fuel upgrade so it wont run lean, i got new 19lbs fuel inectors, and a walboro 250lph pump, im gonna try and make a deicated fuel system with a seperate pump and use the windsheildwasher tank to hold some race gas, and then move on to a direct port fogger. but by then, i will def be putting in a set of forged pistons.

yes and like dave said, a progressive nitrous controller would def be a neccesity for more then 150. like two seperate stages, so it dont take the whole 200 right off the bat.

but how much could a stock eninge take, i think it will take at least 125 on a good tune, and so more depending on how good it runs.

that comes to another question what would i use to tune one of these 3.1?since no one out there seems to be chipping them.
