Coming home from Iraq next week!!!
This is the deal I'll be home next week and I've got $2,500 to spend on my car since this motor is a big terd, I figured 150 shot 3000 stall, dual and dump, then gut. Motor is nearly stock excluding the cam and some 1.6 rollers. the trans has been built by a friend of mine with a lot of experience with GM tranies, it now has 3:23 gear in it. I'm going to gut every thing out of the inside and add a glass hood. Any ideas on times for me?

purchase a blown 540 alcohol injected "engine" (beast would fit better) if you need to go fast.
edit: saw one for sale local to chitown a while back that powered a car to 6's at over 200mph..
price: $22500
close enough to 2500 right?

Hey Jay29, welcome back, thank you for keeping us free. It will be nice to grab a longneck and sit in the car once again, been there. Little off subject.....I am on the fence....stay or go!

Well, You are in need of a cam and a set of heads.
You can get a set of E-Tec Edelbrock aluminum heads, comes with matching cam, all the gaskets, and an airgap vortec style manifold for $1400-$1800 depending whether or not you have flat tappet or roller.
With the rest of the money you can get some 3.42's or maybe even 3.73's and that will wake the car up tremendously.
