nitrous purge not working under pressure

Ok I checked the switched power going to my purge valve and it is recieving 12 volts when switched. The 12 volts is being supplied from the system power switch like it is recomended and I can here the solenoid click when I hit the switch. But when I open the nitrous valve on the bottle and send the 900 - 1100 psi of pressure to the solenoids the purge will not do anything?

I have the NX hitman solenoid and I have it hooked up after the nitrous solenoid like the instructions recomend. And after I bleed some pressure out of the line and hit the purge switch it will purge the remaning pressure?

What is going on, this solenoid is brand new?

Is your purge solenoid in line before your nitrous solenoid or after? Are you using a purge adapter?

I have it mounted after the nitrous solenoid with no purge adapter. What is that, I mounted it the way the instructions said. And like I said it will purge if I bleed some of the pressure off, and with no pressure in the lines I can here it click when I hit the switch?

I have the nitrous line going to the inlet side of the n20 solenoid then the bottom or outlet going to the nitrous bar for direct port, then I have the purge solenoid mounted directly to the other side or purge port on the n20 solenoid.

I am possitive that it is mounted correctly and should work in this configuration which is what the instruction suggested. I have NX lightening series solenoids with an ice man purge.

Re: nitrous purge not working under pressure

For some reason that doesn't seem right. The purge being after the nitrous solenoid wont do squit. You need a fitting that will go in between the nitrous feed line and the in side of the nitrous solenoid that connects to the plate. That way you'll be able to purge the line up to the nitrous solenoid.

Now after looking at their instructions, does your nitrous solenoid have 3 ports on it? One thing to try is running power temporarily direct from the battery to the purge solenoid and see if that'll do it.

Re: nitrous purge not working under pressure

Ya I guess I am not familiar with those solenoids. In a 'typical' nitrous setup if you have the purge after the nitrous solenoid nothing will be passing through to the purge solenoid unless the nitrous solenoid is opened.

For my purge, the nitrous line comes into a purge adapter (basically a small chamber that the purge and nitrous solenoids are attached too). When you hit the purge button the purge solenoid opens until liquid nitrous is in the line up to the adapter (and therefore at the nitrous solenoid inlet).

Ready to rock at that point.

Re: nitrous purge not working under pressure

The nitrous should come out of the bottle, through the main line and into a T-fitting. One of the T outlets should go to the purge 'noid and the straight through outlet should go to the nitrous solenoid. It should be wired so that an activation switch arms the entire nitrous system. Only when the system is armed and you press your purge button should the purge 'noid open (you shouldn't be able to purge with the system un-armed). Only when the system is armed and you hit the full throttle switch/press the go button should the nitrous and fuel 'noids open (you shouldn't be able to spray with the system un-armed.

Good luck
Tony
